1. Acceptance of Terms and Binding Agreement

Welcome to CityBuzz. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CityBuzz, Inc. (“CityBuzz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the CityBuzz mobile application, website, APIs, proprietary software, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must delete the application from your device immediately.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements (13+)

CityBuzz is designed for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years of age to use CityBuzz. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to utilize age-assurance technologies and to suspend or terminate accounts that fail to satisfy eligibility criteria.

3. Description of the Service: The "Manual City" Model

CityBuzz is a real-time, geographically organized communication platform for city-based discussions.

• User-Defined Geography: CityBuzz utilizes a "Privacy by Choice" model. You manually input or select the city you wish to participate in; we do not track your precise GPS location in the background.
• Evolution of Service: We may modify or discontinue features (such as the Live Radar or Bee-themed UI) at any time. We are not obligated to maintain any specific functionality indefinitely.

4. Account Registration, Security, and Integrity

You are solely responsible for your login credentials and all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and update it via the Profile screen as necessary. You must immediately notify us at security@citybuzz.app of any unauthorized use. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames used for impersonation or those that remain inactive.

5. User Content Ownership and Global License

You retain ownership of the original content you submit (“User Content”). By posting, you grant CityBuzz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and perpetual license to host, store, reproduce, modify, and display your content for operating, securing, and promoting the Service. This license applies to content voluntarily made available in public city threads and continues for archival purposes.

6. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Systems (2026 Disclosure)

In compliance with California AB 2013, CityBuzz utilizes AI and machine learning to rank threads and detect spam. Public thread data may be used to refine our local relevance algorithms. Private direct messages are not used for AI training except where strictly necessary for safety enforcement or legal compliance.

7. Acceptable Use Policy: The Rules of the Buzz

You agree not to use the Service to: violate laws, harass others, post hate speech, impersonate entities, engage in coordinated inauthentic behavior, or distribute malware. Commercial spam in city threads is strictly prohibited.

8. Moderation, Enforcement, and User Controls

CityBuzz reserves the right to monitor and moderate content. We provide "Self-Service" tools to help you curate your experience:

• Block & Report: You may utilize these functions on any thread or profile to personally restrict your exposure.
• Management: You can view and manage your restricted list at any time through the "Blocked Content" menu in your User Profile.

9. Community Integrity and Geographic Authenticity

Because CityBuzz is organized by cities, you agree not to use VPNs or proxies to systematically flood cities where you are not present with misleading information or "fake" local trends.

10. Intellectual Property Rights (CityBuzz Ownership)

All software, design elements (including our custom orange/yellow gradients), and the "Bee" logo are the exclusive property of CityBuzz, Inc. You may not copy or reverse engineer any portion of our Service.

11. Disclaimers of Warranties ("As-Is")

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITYBUZZ DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT USER-GENERATED CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR TRUTHFUL.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITYBUZZ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100.00).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify CityBuzz, Inc. and its officers from any claims or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of third-party rights.

14. Governing Law, Termination, and Contact

• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
• Termination & The "Delete Act" (2026): You may delete your account at any time via the "Delete Account"button in your User Profile. We honor all centralized deletion requests submitted through the California DROPplatform.
